WMCA Endorses Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate

After discussion among our leadership, West Michigan Clergy Action is endorsing Abdul El-Sayed in the Democratic primary for United States Senate.

This endorsement reflects our shared convictions that:

Our democracy is weakened by the growing influence of corporate money in politics. Senatorial candidates should not rely on funding from organizations such as AIPAC or other powerful special-interest groups whose priorities often diverge from those of ordinary Americans. We believe our nation’s policy toward Israel and Palestine must place greater emphasis on human rights, international law, and the equal dignity of every person. The Democratic Party must renew itself with courageous leadership willing to pursue bold policies that address economic inequality, affordable housing, healthcare, climate change, and the health of our democracy.

While we respect those who may reach different conclusions, we believe Abdul El-Sayed best reflects these values at this moment. Please vote in the August 4th primary. This is an unsolicited endorsement.
